Contest: #1 Summer Memory
If I had to choose a favorite summer memory for 2010, I’d probably pick biking to the farmer’s market with my family. We have these new child bike seats, one for my husband’s bike, one for mine, that allow us to roll down the streets together. There’s something so relaxing in the air during summer.
Even though I was hot, sticky, and exhausted by the end of our day trip, I’ll never forget seeing the breeze blow in my kid’s faces, taking home farm fresh corn to grill, and just enjoying the time as a family.
What has your favorite summer memory been so far? Share your favorite summer memory in the form of a comment or a photo on our Facebook Fan pge (or email to moms@newbornfree.com) and you’ll be entered to win a Twist N’Pop Straw Cup, Trainer Cup, and twin pack of pacifiers.

Our first family visit, with our 8 month old son, to Central Quebec to see my husband’s parents at the end of July. They retired back to Quebec after 35 years in Ontario. Our 8 month old son adjusted to the french language and new faces like he was at home! It was incredible.

My favorite memory so far has been taking our kids boating with our inlaws. My husband was on a tube behind the boat and my 4 yr old daughter was shreiking “faster Grandpa! Flip him! Flip him!” over and over. When he finally flipped she laughed so hard, it was great!
My fondest memory this summer while on vacation in Florida was seeing my 10 month old finally crawl for the first time – but he best part was the joy on his 4 year old sister’s face and her eyes just light up with excitement. Pure joy!!
My favourite memeory would be seeing my 3 kids playing together for 5 minutes without fighting or crying…. and our picnic. Of course our 3 month old don’t know much about it yet but we do.
My favorite summer memory is the first time that we took our little one to the downtown fountain after she learned to walk. Seeing her be able to splash about in the water by herself (With mom or dad close by) was fantastic. She loved the way that the mini-waterfalls felt on her hands and could finally explore everything that she has been just looking at for the past couple of months!
my favourite memory this summer so far was taking our three girls 6, 4, and 5 months to Niagara Falls, and the look on our 5 month olds face when she got to meet the parrot closeup at bird kingdom, so priceless!
Our crazy trip to New Jersey and New York! Can you believe I traveled with a 5 year old and a 2 month old?? HA! We went for a family reunion and had a blast! My kids are the best travelers ever! The best part was taking my daughter to the Museum of Natural History! She was so excited to see everything and see all the cool animals.
I am enjoying my best memory right now! We are on a small island off vancouver island. My two year old son is in love with walking down to the ocean when the tide is out and finding all of the crabs! Even when they pinch him he still runs after more! Also watching his grandma take him in the waves while his pregnant mom waits laughing away! I love summer!

My favorite memory thus far is taking my three girls camping. They are 4, 2, and 9 months. Just to see the oldest ones so excited to sleep outside. We had so much fun swimming. It is hard for me though because I know my Maternity leave is almost over so I try to take in and make everyday a special day because soon it will be back to work for me.
My favourite memory so far this summer is my almost 3 month old son is smiling back at me!
This summer has been very eventful it’s hard to pick just one, my son’s 2nd birthday, my husband and I celebrated our 1st anniversary, meeting my one and only nephew for the first time, we took our boys (2 and 6 months) to their first stampede and on their first picnic. Gosh I could keep going. It’s been so much fun!!! I’m sad that August is almost over and the cooler temperatures are just around the corner. Summer is NEVER long enough!!!

Going to visit Nana in Orlando…we never really get a chance to see the mouse, but when we leave, everyone on the planes always ask my 2-year-old how his trip to see Mickey was. He always replies with a cute little, “No Mickey, Nana.” I just watch and giggle. Some things in Orlando are truly priceless.
My favourite memory this summer so far is taking our then 7.5 month old son, Lucas, (he’s now 9 months old)into his grandparents pool for the very 1st time and watching a little fish develop!! We’d support him and he’d do the rest…kicking his legs and flapping his arms and all the while laughing b/c it was sooooo much fun! Also, my husband was blowing bubbles in the water and Lucas thought it was the funniest thing ever; and we got it on video too!!!
A definite memory would be all the long walks I took with my daughter, who is now 5 months old. I’d put her in a carrier and just walk around, and I then noticed that she was gazing at me all along. When I gaze back into her eyes, she smiles or babbles!

As simple as it sounds….one cloudy morning after many days of beachin’ and sun fun…I took my three girls,( ages 5,22mths and 8 weeks)..down to the garden. What was supposed to be a quick check on our carrots and lettuce…turned out to be a morning of discovery and giggles…and eating the carrots right out of the ground. (After wiping on their shirt…of course!) Their little faces were so amazed by the size of the carrots and beets, that were only seeds such a short time ago! What a great way to spend a cloudy morning! A huge life lesson to myself as a mom and to my children too….life doesn’t have to be complicated and full of distractions and parks or games etc…to be fun. Life is about doing whatever it is that makes us feel good and happy and being together
Love my kids.Love summer 2010!
I can’t post a pic here can I ? I have pics of this day…carrot eating and all…
My favorite summer memory was hearing my son say his first word last week……banana!!
My favourite memory was having my daughter! She was born at the beginning of July and has already changed so much this summer!
My two daughters both require trips to Toronto for medical reasons. Toronto is somewhere we go if and when we have to not because we want to, but this summer for the first time ever we travelled there just to watch a concert. We saw the Black Eyed Peas at the ACC, they thought is was fabulous and their father and I enjoyed watching their excitement. Then two weeks after that we had to head to Toronto for a medical appointment; we got really great news our one daughter no longer has to travel there for medical reasons. To celebrate we went to Niagara Falls to tour the falls and visit Marine Land. This was definately one of the summer that was really special.
I think that I should add that both my daughters are way past the sippy cup and pacifier age, but my grandson who is 11 months tomorrow would love to score some great stuff. He loved the cool hat we brought him from Marine Land and we plan to take him there one day. Must keep those good memories going.
Living on the West Coast there is always something to do in the summer. Our family enjoys going out on our boat, and swimming in the ocean. It is like our own private pool. Even the 14 month old loves being in the water.

My favourite memory from the summer of 2010 was the birth of my 3rd son! Then when my two older sons came to the hospital to meet him for the first time. The look of excitement in their eyes was priceless. They were so happy to finally get to meet their little brother.
